Care For Wild Rhino Sanctuary is located on a beautiful game reserve in the heartland of Mpumalanga, South Africa, where we’ve set up a treatment and Care Centre where we can tend to injured or orphaned animals from the Kruger National Park and surrounding Reserves until they are well enough to be rehabilitated into the wild.
Petronel Nieuwoudt, the founder of Care for Wild Rhino Sanctuary NPC, is one of the few people worldwide who has specialized in the care of orphaned and injured rhinos, and her passion is truly inspiring Care For Wild is the largest Rhino Rehabilitaton Centre in the world.
On completion of your Kruger Park Safari we depart by 10h00am to Care For Wild where you have the opportunity of meeting the Rhinos at Care for Wild . On arrival you will be met by your Care For Wild Co-ordinator and checked into Rhino View House. After lunch a brief introduction will be given to you about Care For Wild and then we pay a brief visit to the Bomas and say hello to our orphaned babies as well as meet the rest of the Rhino Care Team and assist where needed with the feeding and treatment of their Rhino’s.
Return to Rhino View for dinner prepared by your Chef and Host and catch up with your guide to discuss the events of the afternoon as well as discuss activities for the next morning.
This morning up bright and early for Tea and Coffee with your guide before departing on one of the unique activities for the morning. Today you may choose either a Bush Walk with your guide, or a game drive, or you might want to take a walk with the anti-poaching unit and their dogs as they check on the fence lines or if you prefer you may go and feed the babies and help with their morning bottle feeds. We return to Rhino View for breakfast after which we then depart by 11h00am for your transfer back to Johannesburg with our Shuttle.
