3 Day Safaris are mainly for the person looking for a quick safari experience if you are limited for time, or as an add on adventure to your pre planned southern African tour that brings you to the beautiful province of Mpumalanga. Mpumalanga means “the place of the rising sun” with this province situated on the picturesque eastern side of the country.
The 3 Day Kruger National Park Safaris from Johannesburg with collection from either your Hotel or Guest House between 06h00am and 07h00am, or from OR Tambo Airport no later than 07h30am which then begins with our private transfer in one of our own comfortable vehicles. The journey from Johannesburg is about 4 hours to Nelspruit where you then change over to your Open Safari Vehicle in Nelspruit and meet up with your guide and then drive the last 45 minutes to the park. Should you wish to fly to an airport closer to the Kruger National Park there are flights directly to Nelspruit (MQP) Aiport or Skukuza Airport within the Kruger National Park daily. We can also arrange transfers for your Kruger Safari holiday.
Our budget Kruger National Park safaris are in huts within the camp of Pretoriuskop allowing you to stay inside the Kruger National Park. All huts have twin beds with linen, bath towels and bath soap but communal bathrooms are used for men and women separately. Morning and afternoon game drives are done allowing you to enjoy Sunrises and Sunsets. Traversing from Pretoriuskop in the morning to Skukuza for breakfast and returning on a different route to Pretoriuskop.
Our classic safari has only one difference and that is it is in Huts with bathroom en-suite and air-conditioning with all Linen, bath towels and soap being available and each unit comes with a fridge to keep your drinks cold.
We utilize Southern Region camps such as Pretoriuskop, Skukuza or Berg en Dal for this option and all accommodation is subject to being available at the time of booking. Morning and Afternoon game drives are undertaken allowing for great sunrises and sunsets and good sightings of the Big 5 and various other game species. A sunset/night drive can be enjoyed on the second day of the safari.
Our tented safaris are based at Camp Shonga or Camp Shawu close to the Crocodile Bridge area of the Kruger National Park. All tented units have bathroom en-suite and outdoor showers for those that want to be one with nature. Two game drives per day in the Kruger National Park make this luxury package a memorable African experience.
The Luxury safari is outside of the Kruger National Park in the Sabi Sands concession overlooking the Kruger National Park. Protea Paul Kruger Gate has 4 Star luxury graded rooms with bathroom en-suite and air-conditioning, Wifi and /TV with limited DSTV channels. Buffet Dinners and Breakfasts are the order of the day. Game drives are within the Kruger National park traversing between Paul Kruger Gate, Skukuza and if time permits Lower Sabi with a Sunset/Night Drive from the Paul Kruger Gate from 17h00pm till 19h00pm with a drop off back at your hotel the Protea Paul Kruger Gate.
This safari is glamping at its best and is a 20 minute drive from the Kruger National Park. Set on the banks of the Sabie River all tents face the river allowing you to enjoy the sights and sounds of running water. Each unit has bathroom en-suite , air-conditioning, wall safes and tea and coffee making facilities. Dinners are enjoyed either in the Tented Boma or outside on the sandy bank of the river depending on the weather. Game drives are experienced within the Kruger National Park on an afternoon drive on your first day and a full day safari experience on your second day.
Most safari packages include collection that takes place early in the morning, usually from 6h00 – 7h00 from your hotel or guesthouse in Johannesburg. You will then be transported to Nelspruit, arrival time between 11h00am / 11h30am. You can also fly from OR Tambo straight to Nelspruit (Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport). Whether you are flying or driving to Nelspruit, your guide will be awaiting you upon arrival and transport you to the Kruger Park. Upon departure you can be dropped off at KMIA to fly back to Jhb, or be transported back to Jhb. Be sure to check with your safari tour operator.
Depending on the 3 day Kruger Park Safari package you choose, dinner, lunch & breakfast can be included or excluded.
On a 3 Day Kruger Park Safari you will sleep over for 2 nights. Departure at the end of the 3rd day.
The Kruger Park is vast and can be compared to the size of a small country like Israel. If you see your safari as an add-on adventure to your tour of the country as a whole, a 3 Day Safari is a good option to pack in as much ‘Kruger’ as possible in the time limit you have.
