Pilanesberg National Park, or Pilanesberg Game Reserve as it is often called, lies in the Bojanala Region, within the North West Province and is relatively near to Johannesburg. It has an area of 550km2, making it the fourth largest park in South Africa. It is located in a volcano crater that erupted 1300 million years ago. Originally, Pilanesberg was owned by three tribes. Stone Age and Iron Age sites have been found around the reserve that show signs of human activity.

3 Day Black Rhino Lodge Family Safari 

This safari is located on the western border of the Pilanesberg Game Reserve, A luxury safari lodge with no malaria problems. In addition to air conditioning, each suite includes a private bathroom, outdoor shower, and a comfortable lounge area facing a busy waterhole. There is an open-plan lounge, bar, and dining area that is elegantly appointed and provides plenty of natural light. 


After the early morning game drive, spend a lazy day around one of two plunge pools.

3 Day Mongena Lodge Dinokeng Safari

This safari is located in Dinokeng Game Reserve which is unique in a sense that they are the only residential Big5 game reserve worldwide located within the boundaries of a metro city and just half an hour from the city centre.


The tame Zebra's, Nyala's and Springbucks residing in the main camp are delighting to all guests with their presence and have become a favourite trademark of Mongena. The lodge also has a wheelchair friendly twin room with a paraplegic bathroom facility. Wifi is available at certain hotspots around the lodge.
