In Remeberance Of Michael Westraadt
28 April 1985 – 09 March 2019
It is with profound sadness that we set up this page on our Nhongo safaris website in remembrance of Michael, who was not only our “Deputy Head Guide” in Nhongo Safaris, but was also a son, brother, dad and best friend to all his colleagues at Nhongo Safaris.
Michael was this breath of fresh air, that came to Nhongo Safaris as a highly respected guide, that knew a lot regarding the behaviour-able aspects of animals that he loved so deeply especially his Elephants. Michael would spend hours treating and talking to guests regarding all of these aspects, and carried over his knowledge with diligence and love, often leaving guests spellbound and in total awe at his game drives and Knowledge
It is going to be a very hard time over the next couple of weeks as we all adjust to not having Micheal there for us. We, the management at Nhongo Safaris, Including Sean and Kerilouise Cherry, who have been friends for more than twenty years, are already finding it incredibly hard, not knowing what to do without Micheal. All Michaels friends and colleagues at Nhongo Safaris, have been touched by his untimely passing.
We at Nhongo Safaris, would like to give our condolences to the Westraadt Family at this time. Mom Dianne, Dad Paul, Brother Shaun, Brother Peter and wife Samantha as well as Candice Pappin, Michael’s Girlfriend, we bow down and pray for you over this incredibly hard time.
From all at Nhongo Safaris, Dean, Verity, Sean, Kerilouise, Craig, Robbie, Gert, Matthew, Amanda, Kara, Clint, Shannon, Dez , Ian and Ettiene
As we say in Africa
“ukuhlehlisa indoda yendlovu, sengathi umphefumulo wakho uphumule manje " “goodbye elephant man, may your soul rest quitely now
