Letaba restcamp, known as the river of sand is one of the Kruger National Park's premium verdant green camps, shaded under the prominent sycamore fig trees. The tone of the camp is set by its stunning surroundings, the vibrant plant life and animal populations lends to its life and color.
Larger animals such as the elephant, buffalo, lion, cheetah and waterbuck as well as the smaller vervet monkeys and tree squirrels can all be seen in the area surrounding Letaba Camp.
Accommodation at the restcamp is facilitated with fridges, air conditioners and airy verandas for those hot African summer days. The bungalows come with en-suite bathroom units and fully equipped kitchenettes.
Letaba Camp offers fantastic bird watching opportunities. Barred, pearlspotted and Scops owls can be seen around the camp, including the Giant Eagle Owl which is regularly spotted along the river. Brown Headed Parrots and Green Pigeons can be found in the tree canopies.

"Our guide was Gert and it ended up being myself and my fiance only on the your, despite not having booked a private safari. Gert was brilliant. His knowledge of the park, animals and birds was encyclopaedic and entertaining. He had a great dry sense of humour, laid back and tried to facilitate our requests. The accommodation and food etc were nice, but the safari was just great. Highly recommended."
Three of us did the budget/economy tour and were surprised at how amazing it was for being a "budget tour". The drive to/from Johannesburg with Dez was smooth. The lodge was perfect; a really nice place and the meals were delicious. The best part of the tour was our guide, Robbie Williams. Robbie is extremely experienced and with him we saw the big 5 plus more. I would recommend nhongo to anyone!
Robbie was the most fantastic guide! He really took his time to explain everything to us and went out of his way to give us the best experience/time. Waking up for a game drive with him even after a short night was the biggest pleasure and we couldn't have asked for anything better!! Thank you so very much!!
