6 Day Wilderness Southern Kruger Safari

Kruger National Park Night Drive

All of our safaris are accommodated within the Kruger National Park and its Boundaries.

Accommodations for this package are either at Skukuza, Berg en Dal, Pretoriuskop, Satara or Olifants Camp depending on availability at the time of booking. Please do not request certain camps as we book what is available between the four camps at the time of you making your payment as it is a public entry park. Accommodation consists of African bungalow type accommodation with either twin, triple beds as the parks accommodations do not have double beds, air-conditioning, and a bathroom en-suite. Each couple or single person has their own African Bungalow and does not share units with other guests on Safari. For this safari we try and use three different camps so that you can see different parts of the park.

Our Safaris are carried out by one of our Rangers. it is customary in South Africa to show your appreciation to your guide or driver should you wish to do so after your safari or being dropped off or picked up for your safari.

  • The daily all day game drives (wildlife viewing) in Kruger Park are carried out in our own purpose built 'open vehicle' which has been approved for use by the Kruger Park authorities. You are ensured a more open viewing experience. All vehicles accommodate up to 9 guests. Our Safaris depart with a minimum of two guests daily and we prefer a minimum of 6 per vehicle and a maximum of 9 at times. Please note that although we have radios in our vehicles these are for emergencies only and not to broadcast sightings in the Kruger National Park.
  • You will have a good chance of seeing all of the 'Big 5'. Driving around you will definitely view large amounts of wildlife - Elephant, Buffalo, Zebra, Giraffe, Wildebeest, Impala, Kudu and Waterbuck; just to name a few of the common species.
  • As you will be visiting the Kruger National Park by law we have to advise you to take malaria tablets. You would also need to check with your Doctor (GP) on the latest vaccinations required for South Africa, as this tends to differ for various countries. If you are pregnant please do not consider a safari to the Kruger National Park unless travelling in May, June or July when the risk is at its lowest. All Shops within the Kruger National Park supply lotions and wristbands permeated with Citronella Oil as a repellent against mosquitoes.
  • It's important for you to check on the required 'travel documents' for South Africa - passport, travel insurance, visa if you are younger than 18 years and travelling on your own or with parents please make sure to carry your unabridged Birth Certificate with you as you will be denied entry if you do not carry the appropriate paper work.
  • Collection in Johannesburg: We collect from the following Areas OR Tambo Hotels, Kempton Park, Boksburg, Benoni, Sandton, Rosebank, Melrose, Melville, Randburg, Morning side, Eastgate, and Bedfordview. There is a huge variety of accommodation from Hotels, Guest Houses or Air BNB’s to be found in these areas.
  • Collection Pretoria: We collect in Arcadia, Brooklyn, Hatfield and Colbyn.

Please do not book flights on your return before 18h00pm as there may be delays in getting you back in time.

6 Day Wilderness Southern Kruger Safari itinerary.

ALL GUIDES ARE HIGHLY TRAINED AND THE HIGHEST PAID IN THE KRUGER NATIONAL PARK.

Day 1

Johannesburg - Kruger Park (D)
On entering the Kruger Park through the Numbi Gate we make our way on towards the camp of Pretoriuskop for a lunch break before departing on our first game drive of the day where we have the opportunity of spotting Rhino, Elephant and other species of Antelope doing what they do best eating. We make our way to our Camp for the evening arriving just before gate closing time. After checking in you’ll get a chance to freshen up in your chalet before joining others for dinner at the camp’s restaurant. Your guide will let you know the time to meet him outside the restaurant.

Day 2

Kruger Park (B - D)
Everything starts early in the Kruger park in order to have a greater chance of seeing game, we depart from the camp and get on the road when the gates open. We’ll stop at one of the picnic areas en-route to our next camp for breakfast hoping to spot our elusive Leopard or possibly finding a pride of Lions on the prowl. After breakfast we continue on our game drive looking out for any birds of interest or antelope along the way. You’ll see plenty of Zebra and Wildebeest grazing on the open grass plain, tall elegant Giraffes, their heads among the branches of the acacia trees, and a family of Elephants crossing the road ahead of you. You’ll see plenty of birds too – there are more than 500 species present in the Park during our summer months. We’ll get back to camp at mid afternoon and this will give you time to relax before dinner and then departing on your Night Safari. A National Parks ranger will be in charge of the two-hour night drive in an open sided truck.

Day 3 & 4

Kruger Park (B - D)
Today we’ll slowly make our way up to next Camp, arriving for check in after 14h00pm allowing you time to check in and have a break from the vehicle before departing late afternoon on another game drive before dusk and the camps gates close, or if you prefer relaxing in the camp for the rest of the afternoon you may do so enjoying listening to the birds singing in the trees or just taking a nap. Dinner is in the restaurant at 19h00pm where your guide will discuss the event for the next day.

Day 5

Kruger Park (B - D)
After a good nights rest, we depart early once again for an early morning game drive, returning to camp for breakfast, before making our way slowly back to the Southern edge of the park to our last camp for the evening. Check in will be late afternoon and dinner at 19h00pm in the restaurant.

Day 6

Kruger Park - Johannesburg

It’s time this morning for your last game drive, hoping to spot as many species of antelope, and cats before breakfast. Enjoy your last mornings breakfast and drive in the park before departing by 10h00am and slowly making our way back to Nelspruit to change over to your transfer vehicle back to Johannesburg arriving late afternoon.

Drop-off back at Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport If you’re flying out of one of the airports close to the Kruger Park, you will probably be lucky enough to spend an extra couple of hours viewing game. Your guide will ensure that you leave the park in plenty of time to catch your flight from either Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA) or Mpumalanga Airport (MQP)
